7 Day Free Wordtracker Trial

Our keyword tool is powered by Wordtracker's API, but if you want access to more keyword data they just announced they are offering a free 7 day trial to the full Wordtracker keyword tool.

Hi Aaron,

I've tried several keyword data tools, but I have always had problems with country based localisation. For example, UK only search volume data.

The best I have found is KeywordDiscovery as it shows the monthly volume as opposed to the weekly that Wordtracker shows.

Do you know of any keyword data tools that show Geo-Localisation reliably?

(Apologies if I hijacked the post, but it just reminded me about the quandry I faced a fortnight ago.)

Hi Kevin
I think both Wordtracker and KD have local keywords, but the Google tools should be slightly more accurate as they have more keyword data.

And once you know the volume of one keyword in a market you can compare it to other keywords. Setting up an AdWords campaign can give you good search volume data if your sites are new and do not yet rank in the organic search results.

Kev, are you asking about keyword sources for different countries in general or about keyword sources for different English-speaking countries?

As for non-English-speaking countries, getting any accurate keyword data from a source other than google's keyword tools seems close to impossible. I know it is for Germany and France (unless this has changed over night) and I've heard the same issue over again at a multilingual/international SEO forum.

I used to consider that a big problem, but on the other hand, I only did so in the beginning, because I was too focussed on trying to get "accurate" keyword data on the search volumes (this keyword gets approx. 12.739 searches/month, etc. ;)).....but once you get used that you have to look at keyword data in a relative way (because the absolute numbers from any keyword source usually are way off, anyway, because of how the data is gathered/predicted) this kind of stops being a problem as you realize that the fact that Google "only" shows relative volumes isn't a problem at all and that you can use their tools.

(but then again, I'm not sure if that's what you're trying to do...but it seems hard to get keyword data for international markets)

Asking for a credit card number for a free trial? When will these places ever learn.

Honestly I like the credit card strategy. It filters out most of the potential abusers and guarantees some level of interest beyond curiosity.

If our free trial did not require signing up for a subscription that had the first 3 months free the level of discourse in the forums would have been bad...the free price point without requiring any commitment from the users would have created something not worth paying for.

Quite agree. It's a balancing act between putting off some potential customers and filtering out the mass of freebie junkies.

I used Wordtracker for a month and found it useful for my needs. I decided to cancel and reuse as need. Anyway, I started getting emails telling me I've been automatically enrolled in the trial and that after 7-days my credit card will be charged $60/month. That's outrageous!
