I probably can't make it work on Google custom search results. It may be possible but I just don't know how and do not see much upside to doing so. The source code is open if you want to see if you can find a programmer to do it.

Hi I am using the latest version of firefox and seo for firefox. Whenever I set anything to automatic, all I get is a question mark "?" at where the value is suppose to be at. However if I set it to on-demand and then click on the question mark, it would return the value fine. What is going on? Why is automatic not working for me? Anyone else experience this?

After you set everything to automatic you have to save it by clicking the button in the prompt at the bottom of that mini window. You may have to restart Firefox after the change as well.

I really liked the Google cached pages option. The google trends option replacing it never seems to work.

Can you please replace it or create another version of the tool with it in.

I just installed version 2.7.4 after upgrading my Firefox to 3.0. I'm familiar with the SEO for Firefox software's operation, as I have been a long time user under FF2.

Right now, when I enter a search term into Google, all the results are showing numbers related to Google itself, rather than the domains and pages of the search result. For example, every result shows the following:

PR: -
Y! Links: 234,000,000
Y! .edu Links: 1,620,000
Y! .gov Links: 119,000
Y! Page Links: 35

...and the links bring up yahoo pages counting links to google.com or http://www.google.com/url?sa=U.

I've tried several searches, a couple that I normally keep track of and then a couple of random phrases, and get the same situation each time.

Search queries in Yahoo are working fine, and all the pageranks and link counts are correct there.

Is this a known issue?

Also, I don't have any other extensions (or even themes) installed yet.

Great tool you've got here!

I had a quick question - is there a reason that the tool uses the yahoo search for links:

linkdomain:www.example.com -site:www.example.com

instead of using the Yahoo Site Explorer (which uses the link:www.example.com command) and with 'inlinks' switched to 'except from this domain'.

I get dramatically different results for the two above. Do you find more accurate results with one over the other? I've been using the Yahoo Site Explorer for awhile now instead of the linkdomain command.

The tool is designed to allow you to sort through backlinks with SEO for firefox turned on...the complexity of doing that while allowing multiple options (site explorer and the default search results) probably would not add much value to the tool and could confuse some users.

First of all kudos for such an impressive tool, it has made my life much easier.

Quick question. I used to check the Y!page links directly from Google SERPs to check competitors link equity and the results were displayed nicely with all the statistics provided that I could export into an excel file. I tried that today and I saw that those results are not showing up in Yahoo any more. I tried to make a simple query in Yahoo and neither the statistics appeared also.

Any bug with Yahoo?

I tried again but the features don't show up in Yahoo regardless of the data points being configured as automatic or on request. Maybe I am missing something.

All was working fine before the Google update and now it is not working. I seem to have the latest version (2.8.4) and it still doesn't work.

I have tried the fix from JustBen but these setting already appear to be correct. Is anyone else still having problems or can provide some other suggestion to get this fixed.

SEO for Firefox is working for me right now. Are you using it on US Google SERPs or another country (like .co.uk)? Is it working on Yahoo! for you?

If it is not working on either have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it?

After about 30 minutes of searching I didn't find any other fitting place to post this, so I'll leave a comment here.

I've partially ported "SEO for Firefox" to Opera (as a bunch of user js files) and I would like to know your thoughts on the issue before releasing it to the general public.

I couldn't port some features (e.g. CSV generation) because Opera isn't as extensible as FF. I also had to use several hacks to get around Opera's limitations (no permanent storage API for user scripts, no cross-domain XmlHttpRequest) so I expect the script to be buggy. Nevertheless, it already Works For Me(TM) :)

Excellent plugin. I used one similar in the past but the ability to customise the settings in this is much better.

Can I make a suggestion - I'd love to be able to add sites I wish to track. If they appeared in the results, the plugin should inform me of their position at the top of the page.

Seems simple but can't find it any where.

First of all - thank you for your incredible tool!

But the problem - it seems the google search tool (sorry, don't know how to name it correctly) has stopped working after yesterday's google improvement (with searchwiki, socializing etc.) If I expressed myself not clear, then in another words: you bar disappeared from below results on google page.

What to do??

if you log out of the google account it will work. and in the next couple days we should have a version that works even if you are logged in.

My cache is clean, firefox restarted (has the latest updates), and i'm not logged in into Google. This problem is for all searches (tried a lot, all same problem). The strange thing Yahoo search works perfect.. screenshots of both searches :

Congrats on the wonderful update. The new version is great with social media data and the XRay.

However, it seems the DMoz data has some errors. I am getting many DMoz entries for some sites. When I click on the DMoz link, it takes me to the Google Directory results. But when I enter the exact directory page, I don't find any entry for the site.

And even when I go to www.dmoz.org to cross check, I don't see any entry.

For example, if I search for Mahalo, SEO 4 Firefox shows around 756 DMoz entries for mahalo.com . But when I go to DMoz.org, they have only 125 entries. Am I missing something or is it some error?

Also, for popular sites, I have noted a maximum value of 100 for Twitter. I mean when a site seems to have less Twitter mentions, the SEO4FF extension shows that correct. But I never see any Twitter value above 100, even for sites like CNN that have several Twitter mentions in every 24 hours. Is it by default or am I getting this only?

that is the easily attainable limit with the twitter api...it gets hard to go beyond 100

with dmoz we show pages that reference a URL...not DMOZ listings. so for Mahalo it would be like this

About pages referencing the URLs, with a normal search for [mahalo.com], I find a lot of noise.

Like on the first page results, there is mahalogrille.com and mahalominerals.com, which don't seem to have any mention of mahalo.com (the exact domain) but may be appearing because of the word mahalo in their URLs.

Also appearing at #18 is http://www.bigkahunasbbq.com/ and on #20 is http://www.kbeamer.com/bent.html, which both appear because they mention the word the word mahalo (clearly not related to the site mahalo.com)

So would using exact search "domain.com" improve the signal to noise ratio. Just my two cents if they may be of help. The previous noisy results have disappeared and the results are now down to 120s from 750s with exact search.

I agree. I think Google loosened up their directory search, and that using an exact match would be better than the current broad match.

I am having the same issue as Rick1 and Rene1. All the data is the same for each search result. And PR is always blank. I have uninstalled, cleared cache, and reinstalled/restarted with no luck. I am running Firefox 3.0.5 and SEO for Firefox 3.0.8. Thanks.

Kudos for adding the affiliate links to SEMRush and BOTW. For some weird, detrimental reasons, the typical internet public has developed a sort of hatred for anything commercial, which seems to be the reason why commercial, e-commerce sites are never welcomed on social media sites, though ad-based sites aren't any less commercial in my opinion.

Use of affiliate links should be promoted as much as possible, and usage of this by well-known figures like you, SugarRae, etc. will greatly help in making it common and acceptable. Otherwise, how else can an expert (even partly) justify his time spent on writing quality blogs.

I used to go out of my way to under-monetize with an intent of not being seen as being similar to the *exceptionally sleazy* email list marketers. But the truth is...these are services I would recommend anyway, and I did spend $10,000's (or maybe even $100,000's) over the years developing free tools to give away.

Less than 1% of the people using our tools buy from us and less than 10% even bother linking to us...this is just a way for that other 90% of users to have the opportunity to pay for all the value they are getting for free.

Spot on with that! That is another thing that I think is remarkably stupid about the web. Some people think affiliate links are sleazy, while at the same time they have no problem publishing AdSense ads on their site - ads which give them little to no editorial control AND often recommend scams.

I'm getting a 404 error using the keyword research (tool on your site). Here's an example link that's triggering the error:

tools.seobook.com/general/keyword/suggestions/my keyword phrase#results

Maybe this was a change to a rewrite rule on your site? I noticed it two days ago and thought it was a fluke, but I've reinstalled the addon, and the broken URL is supplied for both Yahoo and Google searches.

I have been using SEO for firefox for quite a while now and all of a sudden the search results for Google does not show up. I have tried re-installing both the SEO add-on and Firefox and I still have the same problem. Weird thing is that Yahoo! search results come out fine with everything there ( Y!links, Y!edu's, Alexa, etc...). I do not know what to do and I desperately need this for my job.

Anything I should be doing?

Are you using Google Gears or something like that? Are you being sent Ajax search results?

I was monitoring a competitor and found some interesting facts.
a) It has a page rank of 9 (very high for that particular type of site)
b) Plenty of backlinks from .edu sites.

Dwelling into the source code I noticed a jackpot (possibly not duplicable). The site has created a transmenu module that all the .edu sites use and in the source code there is a H1 back link.

3) DMOZ sites are high
4) Yahoo Biz sites high

Again dwelling into the sites listing in DMOZ or Yahoo Biz they are using the transmenu and links appear in the source.

The question is what affect does this (link back from sites) and then displayed in DMOZ listing or Yahoo biz linking have. I noticed that the SEO tool does take you to the search listing for the site in question in Yahoo biz and DMOZ, therefore is this site getting weight from DMOZ and Yahoo Biz without a physical presence there?

We don't search DMOZ...we search the Google Directory (a DMOZ clone) for the URL string, which should match the site if it is listed, and will show some other DMOZ listed pages that have the URL string on them (perhaps as a link or at least as text on the page).

The Yahoo! Directory's search function has recently got a bit less comprehensive in my opinion. Perhaps their API is returning more accurate results than their actual directory search service is.

I understand, however the URL is entered into the search box of the Google Directory and the Yahoo Directory and these return the results; but why do these two directories do this and what can be the benefits?

The way I am seeing it is that there is a potential to created a plugin or a module for a CMS that will have the link embedded in and need not be displayed on the front but just in the source-code and this is sufficient to get a PR 9 and frontpage Google. It has certainly worked for this particular site although they have been able to capture a dozen .edu sites.

I have popular modules for CMS's spanning over approx' 10,000+ site. I will try this experiment and see the results.

The best thing I have found about this plug-in is the ability to show everything in the serps AND the ease of downloading it in CSV. I frequently do that while using &num=100 and the CSV gives a pretty good picture of everything in no time. Below are some of the things/recommendations (based upon my frequent use) that I feel can help you improve this already-great tool:

1) Some sites block Web Archive bot in Robots.txt. (eg: http://web.archive.org/web/*/academia-research.com/). If possible, you can have some indication in the 'AGE' field. Anything other than the '-' (dash) that usually comes for new sites.

2) Just like you have added Yahoo position, you can add Google.co.uk position, Google.com gl=us position (pretty useful for us guys in Asia), Google.ca, and especially Google Maps position (as Local is getting boost now).

3) For blogs on famous platforms like blogspot or wordpress (like example.wordpress.com or sethgodin.typepad.com), the data pulled is for the main domain (typepad.com). If possible, it would be great to have the all the data from Age to cached to Majestic Domains for the subdomain instead. I guess it can make the tool slower if it has to check for this everytime for each result but you can add an option if possible.

4) Have a button to turn all fields to ‘Automatic’.

5) Add another field for Domain PR. I guess you have this in the SEO toolbar though.

6) Another option to pull the IP of site. This can turn this tool into another useful backlink analysis tool. Doing a Yahoo backlink query and seeing the IPs of 100 linkers in CSV can often reveal strange pictures.

9) New fields for Yahoo backlink stats from UK Universities (.ac.uk) and Gov.uk

I didn’t like the tone of some of the recommenders in the above messages. Some seemed to demand too much and pressed on their suggestions as if they are paying you for all this. I don't want to seem like them and already appreciate all you have done so far. And I ain’t a technical guy who would know how easy/difficult and cheap/expensive can it be to implement these suggestions. These are merely suggestions for improvements rather than demands, so that you can have things to consider when you next decide to have a major upgrade. To be more accurate, these are the things I have usually missed in this tool.

Settings:

SEO for Firefox can be turned on or off globally. In addition, each particular piece of information also has three settings

* Auto - automatically pulls in the data whenever you search Google or Yahoo!
* On-Demand - link to pull in data will be present in search results, but the data will not be automatically pulled in until you click on the associated link
* Hidden - if you do not find a particular data point useful you can remove that data point from the tool output.

By default most of the tool features are in the On-Demand state (not on Auto). This is done to ensure that those who would most likely be abusive users (by not following our usage tips) will be unable to use the tool to its full capability since they would not read these instructions on how to change the settings.

If you logged in here and downloaded the toolbar (which rocks by the way) but couldn't figure out where the button at the bottom that does the special page rank search is... DON'T WORRY!

On the Tools page on seobook, select SEO For Firefox - it's a separate plugin. Doh!

Problem: the #1 - #10 that should appear on the left of the SEOForFirefox extension are appearing in reverse order - from #10 for the top one, to #1 for the bottom result on the page. If I increase the number of search results the problem still occurs.

Using the most up to date version of SEO4FF (downloaded today), and the most recent version of FF (3.5) on MacOSX 10.5.7.

This problem occasionally happened for me on FF2.x as well but I can't remember what I did to fix it or if it just came right by itself.

Any thoughts on what's going on?

one other user had this problem and it was a conflict with another extension. I forget what extension it conflicts with though.

I am using SEO for FireFox 3.1.3/FireFox 3.5 on a linux machine. It works brilliantly in all respects save one: for the longest time the results were skewed when I clicked one of the links below a search result in Google (haven't checked the others). I am referring to the PR: ? | Google Cache Date: ? | Traffic Value: ? | Age: ? etc.

Without going into the long and torturous tale of how I discovered the problem and it's workaround, here's what has been happening: I also use xmarks (formerly foxmarks) for my bookmarks. For reasons unknown, all the links were getting xmarks inserted into them, as follows: http://www.semrush.com/info/xmarks.com?ref=798325166

That was for a search and result that has nothing to do with xmarks. I did note however, that the wikipedia entry directly above this one does not have the xmarks code inserted. As this result is a commercial listing, perhaps that is a clue...?

I have no idea if this is a SEO 4 FireFox issue or an xmarks issue. The work around is easy, turn off xmarks.

It appears that SEO 4 firefox pulls values off Yahoo for incoming links to site and incoming links to the specific page. It would be useful to have values for internal links to page and total number of pages.

It would be nice to see if the search term was used in the heading and body copy (x times in body)

I am building a tool to find low hanging fruit based on your data. If a site has 200 possible search terms it would be nice to see which ones people are competing for.

We do not keep testing Alpha browsers though. The only way we could justify that sort of testing is if we charged for the tool.

I can't seem to get the page rank to pull into the results. I have checked that it is turned on in the settings and have tried reinstalling it but just get a dash (-) every time on the PR. Any help much appreciated.

I've got the same problem as the integrater above. No PR results shown. It does pull in the data points for all other categories. I thought it may be a problem with the new version of firefox, so I installed version 3.0.14. I also reinstalled seo for firefox to no avail. Any advice would be appreciated. I was using the most recent 3.5 version of firefox when the problem started. I should mention that the tool worked perfectly until that update of firefox. Thank you.

If you leave the tool on too long (like always have it on while you are searching, even when you are not doing competitive research) it might temporarily block you from being able to scrape PageRank (or other data points)

I certainly am guilty of leaving it on for regular research, and will keep that in mind if I can get it working again. I figured that a reinstall of the browser and extension would get it to work. Have you had any other issues with people not being able to see page rank? Any suggestions as to how I could remedy the problem? Thank you for your quick response above.

Leave it off for a few days and see if that fixes it.

How to i export the title and the description that is available in the search result??

I have tried several times to install and it says it was installed and restarts firefox, but the tool doesn't shoe up. I have no conflicting software or tools/extensions that would cause this. Any help is appreciated.

security software might be an issue. it might also help to clear cookies, restart the browser, and go through the login and install process again.

I have it installed for some time, but since recently it only displays question marks, I have to click on the little "i" icon to get the information about a site.
Any fixes for that? Using the newest Firefox.

the only thing that displays in the status bar is the green squares which show how fast a page is loading...
there is no sign of the logo, so I cant click it on or off.

The Toggle Info Blocks (in options) are not displaying. As a result, all the data points (PR, etc.) show up as question marks when I do a Google search.I have the latest version of Firefox and SEO for Firefox, and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the add-on as well.

Same here, info blocks are not displaying in options tab with your latest update (3.3.2). Also when you look up a page by right clicking your mouse and choosing this option under "SEO For Firefox" no information is displayed. Love your tools!

SEO for Firefox is without a doubt my single most used SEO tool. I've got access to an array of premium tools through my work but there is very little I can't get done quicker and easier with your tool. As such - many thanks & keep up the great work!

The single suggestion I have for a future update would be to consider adding an option to pull in IP addresses for queried websites.

I've seen someone else mention this in a comment further up as well. When it comes to certain link building matters and discovering site networks I think that feature would be a great deal of help not only to myself but many others as well.

Other than that there's nothing more I could want out of the extension that isn't already there.

Hi i ahve the same problem as the others. The backlink tool "Yahoo link domain" for the majority of sites shows nothing. For seo book it shows all the backlinks :-) though which is strange. It has always worked for me up until a few weeks ago so is it abug ?? as lots of people seem to be commenting on it. great tool by the way

The Yahoo! link search function is sorta slowly going away on the transfer to Bing.

Recently I get no results from Yahoo Linkdomain command. Everything was working fine until recently it just stopped showing any results.

When I use linkdomain:example.com -site:example.com I get 0 results but with linkdomain:seobook.com -site:seobook.com it still works.

Does Yahoo require us to be signed in with a special API or what do you think may have changed? Any help would be appreciated.

BTW this is the best SEO tool I've used to date, I've been recommending many people to use it as well. I just hope it's a simple fix to get the linkdomain command working again.

We updated our tools to redirect Yahoo! link queries through site explorer.

Here's a suggestion for the Google search results when the plugin is enabled: How about adding a "Retrieve All Data" link at the end (after 'Majestic SEO linkdomain') that will pull all the data for just that result? So with the click of that link, you could see the PR, Google Cache Date, Traffic Value, Age, del.icio.us, etc with the click of a button?

SEM Rush estimates traffic volume and click value. Keep in mind that for most businesses these values tend to skew a good bit high, because they are priced as though you are selling ad inventory like Google does (and almost nobody has as high of a CPM as Google does).

Hi Aaron - Just recently I'm experiencing a problem with Seo For Firefox in that it will work okay for one or two seareches but then it displays 3 sets of data instead of the usual one.

The first set is as it should be, the second set is all the options but without data, and the third set is all the correct data BUT with a #number of ten higher than it should be!?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but without success.

Although I can still read the data I require, the extra lines are very distracting.

I find the plugin to be of immense value and I would value any thoughts you may have about the problem I'm having.

You should upload a picture to Flickr and maybe the source code to the page online somewhere. Without that we would be stuck guessing when it comes to troubleshooting.

Hi, SEO for firefox is not working on google, it does seem to work in Yahoo. I have deleted all my other extensions to check if there were any conflicting issues, however the problem still seem to exist. Does anyone have the sollution?

Since the last update the SEO for firefox plugin doesn't seem to work in Google.nl.

When I refresh (plugin enabled), nothing seems to happen. I've tried it a couple of times, but it doesn't work. When I use the Google search box (from Google toolbar, upper right corner of my browser) then it does seem to work.

I have been using seo for firefox for a long time it has been working fine till I had to reformat my pc and now seo for firefox is not showing any data at all uninstalled reinstalled seo and firefox restared pc still no joy! Can anybody please help

SEO for firefox has been fantastic, but suddenly it's stopped returning any data from searches on Google.

I can't get any of the data points to populate. Not one. I have uninstalled all other plugins, with no effect.

Interestingly, Yahoo searches work just fine, supplying all of the data points I've setup.

I'm running firefox 3.6.10

I just noticed some interesting behavior.

In Google, if I click on the images link (top, left), then type in a search query, and then after getting results I click the web link (top, left - to "main" web search), I get the proper results from SEO for firefox. All of the data points I've set appear and populate. Works great.

It continues working UNTIL I go back to google.com and try another (or even the same) search. Then none of the data points populate -- actually, not even the placeholders for the data to populate appear. Nothing appears below the returned search results.

I am getting numbers for the .edu link number from Yahoo, but it is not hyperlinked for me to look at?

That Yahoo! advanced linking option has been disabled on Yahoo's core search results (not by us, but by Yahoo).

Instead of using the latest version of Firefox Browsser, I uninstalled my ver 3.6.1 to Firefox ver 2.0.0.8

I was able to make SEO for Firefox work now.

Just installed the plug-in to Firefox version 3.6.10 and the plug-in didn't work properly, but it seems to work as it should when I turn off Google Instant.

found that If I go to www.google.com and search it doesnt work.

If I use firefox integrated search with google as a search engine, your addon works!

The plugin is not working in firefox 3.6.11 either. Can anyone help to solve the problem?

Hi, the tool doesn't seem to show any results if I'm using a non-English Google, with a # in the search result URL.

Example, doesn't work:

www.google.fr/#hl=fr&q=myquery

This one works, however:

www.google.fr/search?q=myquery

Not sure if the # is causing this, but it appears so?

If you turn off Google Instant it should work.

this tool is not working properly because it doesn't show PR.

i'll tinker a little bit and then uninstall it if i can't get PR to work.

Hi I really love this tool and have used it on many computers with no issues. However frustratingly it just will not work on my new computer, no data displays at all - nothing. I am using a mac with 10.5.8 and firefox 3.6.13 - any ideas?

I am not a computer security guru by any stretch of imagination. But you can ask your IT support what the requirements are to install a Firefox extension at your work.

It simply doesn't show me the results/values underneath the search results in google or yahoo, what should I do?

My bad, i turned off google instant and witch the language search and it works. :)

All ok without the Instant feature but I kind of got used to it, so... is it going to be fixed soon?

I upgraded to Firefox 4, and since then SEO for Firefox and Rank Checker have disappeared. I tried to upgrade them, but they are still missing after installing the latest versions. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions to resolve it?

I am facing the same problem as well. Downloaded FF4 and installed SEO for FF. Disabled all other extensions/add-ons. But SEO for FF just refuses to work.

I'm have the same problem many others are. It just flat out wont work. It works for 1 search and now nothing. When it's enabled I don't get the links right below the search box and nothing appears below each search result. This was the case with both FF4 and the newest FF3.x.

I've disabled Google Instant and it has made no difference.

Do you guys have any idea why it's not working.

A search for "seo for firefox" returned no SEO results.
I smell a conspiracy.

I'm going back to the previous version of SEO for firefox. Version 4 sucks. In this version I don't have the option to save my tags when I closing my window, I just can't control the NO-Follow button, it has life of its own??? The SEO XRay is not responsive most of the time... And many more problems...

Overall Version 4 is a big screw up!

First of... this is a great tool and I really appreciate you guys developing it. I have been using it for about 9 months to quickly get some data from the people I am competing with. One thing I am having an issue with is the Dmoz check. It seems not to be working at all. Instead of searching google directory, it is searching google.com for "domain.com" which obviously will not return if the site is listed in dmoz or not. Can you please let me know how to proceed? Tried installing FREE SEO tools 1) Rank Checker and 2) SEO Toolbar on my browser for FF v3.6.17 but both failed to install with the same message -- "addon is not compatible with Firefox version 3.6.17"...

Soooooo, I upgraded to v3.6.18 and tried same installs... Again the same results... I know these addons work with version 3.x.xx of FF because I've seen current videos of others actually using these tools....

Any thoughts on why these two tools are incompatible with FF?
Is there an updated version of both I can download that WILL be compatible?
The versions I am trying to install from your site are 1) Rank Checker v1.8.7 and 2) SEO Toolbar v1.1.13...

Please, help if you can... I really would love to at least get the SEO Toolbar to install...

I've installed SEO for firefox, put everything on automatic, restarted firefox. I don't get any data at all when I search. It is definitely switched on, and I am using the latest version of firefox (5.0.1)

I have the same problem (thera no Y! Links, Y! Page Links etc.. , have you a solutions for the problem ?

Hi Aaron, Love the SEO for Firefox tool, but I need help, as it stopped working for me......Tried re-installing SEO for Firefox as all Y! Link Data stopped working for a week now.... I am now regretting ever un-installing it as I am getting a message saying it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.18

Been using seotoolbar and seo for firefox for nearly 2 years without any problems.

Like many people above I stopped getting the Yahoo data so I upgraded firefox to 5.0

Since then can't see anything the plug ins have totally disappeared, I can no longet see anything and there is no grey box to toggle and it's no longer under tools.

However when you go to manage add on's it is there and is even updating when I ask it to.

I've even uninstalled and reinstalled but with the same result.

I can't live without this awesome set of tools, anything else (competitor tools) just does not come close.

I'm not sure but I would pay! I guess it would have to be small if it's only support. It has been very stable for me except this one issue which I can't understand. I guess $5 a month if it was purely support, the problem you would have is people would subscribe when they have a problem and then unsubscribe when there is no issue, bit of a dilemma for you?

Personally I think the tool is worth paying for (I know there are free competitors out there but they are not as good).

I guess my issue is specific to me then and not something you are getting reports of?

I was thinking of a monthly fee above how about a yearly fee of $30 or something along those lines. Stops people cancelling and could give you a good recurring income stream.

at begin I work with FF 5.0.1 and install SEO FOR FIREFOX and work normally, after upgrade FF 6 beta 4 and SEO don't work then uninstall FF 6 beta 4 and install FF 5.0.1 and come back to install SEO and no work.What Can I do. thanks

Hey Aaron, just caught up on this thread, and I'm having withdrawals from the tool since it is not working... lol...We would definitely consider paying a yearly fee for support.....though it makes me curious on how you would get the link data as from my understanding Yahoo site explorer will be no more, so would you get link data from Seomoz OSE or another source....curiosity is killing me.... Lastly, do you have any ETA on your decision to offer support or fixes for this tool, as I am biting at the bit not to start trying out other tools, but need to do something somewhat soon? Like many other guys I have installed new firefox 5.0.1, then I install this seo tool, and its not working, its working when im putting some keywords in the main firefox-google search, but when im going to the google.com google.ru and other search engines like russian yandex its just not working, maybe i just need to install earlier version of FF?

Like so many of you on this thread, I also had a problem getting the FF SEO Plugin working. Well today it's finally working without any problems... I hope this will help you all. First of all, I didn't come up with the answer, it was given to me. Make sure that google is doing your searches by default. Open up a new google page & go to 'search settings'. Go down to 'google instant'. You have 2 buttons there, 'use google instant' & 'do not use google instant'. MAKE SURE THE COMPUTER IS IN 'DO NOT USE GOOGLE INSTANT' MODE. Then click 'save preferences'. It fixed the problem for me, I hope it will for everyone that's having it on here as well. Hey, just updated to firefox 8.0 and found out it does not work. Nothing shows up in SERP as expected, please fix it asap.
I really hate to downgrade the damn ram eating firefox, have you guys ever considered making a tool for chrome as well? It's way faster and has a better mechanism on memory management.

SEO for firefox finally works after I completely re-installed firefox 8.0.1. Now I'm facing a new problem: google seems to force you to use ssl search once you logged in, I've searched everywhere trying to find a way to disable ssl search but still haven't found a solution yet. So basically I have to keep logged out for seo, anybody knows how to disable the annoying ssl search?

I currently have Firefox 8.0.1 and SEO for Firefox 3.5.9. It does not work when activated. I also have SEO Quake but it is turned off. I also disabled google instant. What do I need to do to get it to work?

FF 8 and latest version of SEO for FF as of 12/1/2011. Had the same problem of nothing showing up. Turning off Google Instant and LOGGING OUT OF GOOGLE was necessary for the extension to work. Good luck.

I tried two other versions that didn't end up supporting it and finally tried Firefox 5.0 and it
was supposed to support but it wouldn't work, until I found this thread and logged out of gmail!

I installed the add on, did the restart on firefox and even logged out of my google accounts and i still can't get it to work. OK i am a bit of a newbie but i'm normally fairly swift at getting things to work.

Anything i can try in layman's terms to get it working or have we all gotta wait for a fix?

Watched video about how to use this, and it's not working at my side. I do a Google query (with the plugin disabled) and then turned on, re-query and nothing. I checked the possibility of another conflicting plugin but there's nothing at least I don't have the plugins that you say may conflict with this.

Same as some of the above. I installed after updating Firefox and get no results showing under the google search
results. I turned off google instant after reading hear and still nothing shows.

These steps solved this issue for me. 1.) installed Firefox 8 2.) uninstalled & reinstalled SEO for Firefox 3.) Turned off Google Instant (had to search how to do this on the web) 4.)rebooted 5.) did some random Google search (SEO for Firefox not yet working) 6.) right-click on the Google top search result listing and select "SEO for Firefox" then "options" then check the "Toggle Global" check-box 7.) restart Firefox - this worked for me, good luck.

For some reason these have stopped working - noticed it yesterday. I'm running Mac with Firefox 10.0.2 and have SEO for Firefox v 3.6.3

The only thing I have done that I can think might affect it is download the lastest adobe flash update but I can't think why that would casue this not to work?

on my VMWare windows partition i am running firefox 8 and it works fine the toggle info blocks show up! So mystified as why they wont show on the mac?

I've just installed this for the 1st time ever, and as mentioned above, it doesn't work with the latest Firefox 10.0.2

I've now upgraded to FF 11 and still no joy, like you say there must be some kind of conflict but I can't think what it is, the only thing I i recall doing was to update the adobe, the fact it works for Windows in FF 8 is odd to me, but it doesn't work on windows running firefoix 10.0.2 either?

It happened before a few months ago and I was able to sort it, this time I've drawn a blank.

I'd love to claim it was all my own work, to be honest I can't be sure!

Regardless its back and working and I'm damn glad! Seeing as I was so quicjk to come and say its not working I thought I'd come back and say it's fixed!

On Firefox 11, mac 10.6.8, not working on Google. Is working on Yahoo, but that's useless as most of my visitors come from Yahoo. Turned all the add ons off and on etcetera. No change. Very, very shitty. I had some fun fun with this search info, man, it was really good when it worked.

I am using FF 11 and the addon is not working.. It is a shame the developers have stopped caring.

The SEO for Firefox inline stats display on Google SERPs is not working with Firefox 11. Other features like highlighting Nofollow links in web page content and inline display on Yahoo! SERPs do seem to be functioning. Any support from the SEO Book team would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi: I have tried SEO for Firefox on 2 different computers, both using Firefox 12. It works with Yahoo searches, but not with Google. I have turned off Google Instant, I have tried using the in-line search box in the browser. Still no SEO data when I use Google to search. I'm assuming that the tool hasn't kept up with the Firefox revisions? If that's the case, perhaps I just need to wait it out, until the developers work on a new version. In the meantime, I can still get the page rank results, albeit with more labor, by clicking on each search result and then checking the page rank in the SEO Toolbar. If anyone has any luck with getting this problem resolved, I'll check back here. Thanks in advance.

I empathize with Aaron about those guys who come here with demands as if they had paid a fee or something. OTOH, I'm afraid I'm experiencing the same problems as some people here, like e.g. mjsinnyc. Since FF10 or FF11 (not sure there) Seo4FFox doesn't show to me the usual stuff under Google's SERPs. (Highlighting nofollow links does work though). I've got Google Instant turned off.

Looks like a great tool but can't get it working unfrotunately. Am on Mac OS Lion and Firefox 12 and have version 3.6.4 of the plugin but its doesn't show up even though I have it enabled. I did get it to show up initially but was seeing only PA and Link data followed by PRO ONLY RDS. I deleted and reinstalled and now don't see anything. Any thoughts on why its not working and also re the initial message. Do I have to login somewhere?

I really need to get the serps link tool working. It's never worked for me since I downloaded it a year ago on whatever version of FF it was back then. I'm currently on v13.0.1 of Firefox and using Windows XP Media Center Edition with SP3.

I've read through this thread and disabled Google Instant, but it makes not the slightest bit of difference. I've disabled ALL other firefox extentions at the same time, in case any of those were interfering with the SEO extention.

I'm sure there must be an answer. The thing is - does anybody know what it is? I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions anyone can offer.

the trick is to simply log out from your google account then the seo plugin should work also for google!

Unfortunately it seems like the plugin fetches the wrong information so it's time to update it. For example Alexa rank is always at 0... Age is not displayed... yahoo position is not displayed... Y! Page Links is not selectable in settings menu...

I've read a huge amount of comments about people saying it's not working. I have the latest FF (Mac OS X) and just downloaded the latest extension. I get nothing. I can modify all options for the extension, etc and I have no other extensions installed.

What I don't get is why are there no replies to any of these problems? I know it's a free tool but I'm a bit confused why there's a "support" page but just a bunch of people asking questions?

I've had SEO for FF on my computer for a couple years now but disabled it some time ago because I could not gget it to work. Recently enable it and it still does not work when I search Google. What I've done so far is:
*made sure firefox browser is updated
*made sure the SEO for FF icons are enabled. (BTW i have icons on both the upper and lower areas of the screen)
*When I search Google and don't see the add on working I refresh the page, still doesn't work.

I am NOT a technical person, but I got it working!!!!! Ha ha ha. I'm trying to learn SEO, and after installing SEO for Firefox I discoverd that it works in yahoo search, but not in Google search. I read through lots and lots of comments and answers here and came to one that said that it works when you use the Google search function ON THE MOZILLA Page: go to www.google/firefox. do your Google search here, and the SEO for Firefox will function!!!!! (Cant tell you how happy it makes me to figure these things out.)

I installed SEO for Firefox and the SEO Toolbar, but when I restart Firefox, neither of the tools is installed. I have installed the tools before in an earlier version of Firefox and they worked fine. Any idea why they're not working now? I am an experienced Firefox user and have installed numerous add-ons that are not on mozilla.org.

I am having a similar problem. The SEO for Firefox is working when I enter a search term in Yahoo but not Google. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and am on the latest version 25.0.1. All my other extensions are disabled except for SEO for Firefox. Is there a plugin that may be causing this conflict? I would really appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks.
