The SEO Book Blog is Now Creative Commons Licensed

Hi Aaron.

I just wanted to say how much I have really enjoyed reading some of your posts. I also wanted to ask your advice on something.

I run a manufacturing company based in Cwmbran, South Wales, UK. We manufacture a fantastic skin protection product, Derma Shield, dermashield.co.uk that we mainly sell within the UK to both corporate and individual customers. I am trying hard to expand my individual customer base through Internet transactions. I have had a website presents since 1994. So, if you were to Google our trade name, we get very high on the pages. The problem I face is that people don't search on our trade name, obviously, but instead search on conditions that they're trying to cure. I have been learning a great deal about, SEO, and I know that I am getting better at making our sites visible for the relevant search terms such as "cure my dermatitis". dermatitis-page.info

The challenge I face is that I feel a little bit like a child in a sweet shop. I feel that I'm constantly running from one idea to another. And as a result, I don't think that I'm doing anything really well. If you were to write an idiots guide on the logical sequential steps to sound SEO. What would it look like?

Question: If I want to take your posts and translate them to spanish and publish them on a blog (obviously, I give your credit), Is that ok for you? Many people, here in my country, want to learn SEO but most of them can't read english.

Of course you can translate any post into Spanish. I have had about 50 different people request to translate my book, so I figured there would also be demand to translate and add value to my blog posts too.

The duplicate content stuff is already happening, but some of the good value added syndication (like Omarinho mentioned) may not be.

I hope to take a time to start the blog soon before this year ends, and don't worry, when I take your posts, then I will put a note saying that although the original source in english is the Aaron Wall's blog, he is not responsible for the translation.

I have a new site, www.floort.com, that is getting spidered very quickly. Each new opinion can be carefully constructed so that the poster is in control of it's potential SEO success.

But the home page is constructed so as to always show the latest opinion. Is this bad for SEO? I have generated some high value links to the home page but it is different every time someone posts a new opinion. Should home pages be static if you want them spidered? How do I identify this site as a 'blog' so that dynamic content actually helps?

Thanks Aaron. I think I will make a more permanent homepage and allow the Floorts to get into SE on their own. I was trying to make the home page a simple place to link to with a different Floort each time but SEO is more important.

BTW, why did you turn off back arrow and tilda as chars in comments? It is difficult to make contractions. :)

Maybe it is just on a MAC?
