What Marketing Data Would You Want in Google's SERPs?

So my friend might take another week or two to get it done, but I am having him make an extension for adding data to Google's SERPs on the fly. A mock up might look something like this. Notice the links under each organic search result showing things like PageRank, site age, site size, and linkage data. Of course if this extension was made you would be able to actively pull in the data automatically or click a button to have the data selection pulled in on an as needed per URL basis.

Is SEO for Firefox an extension worth making? What marketing data would you like to see in Google's SERPs? What data points should be page specific? Which should be site specific? Which should be both? When gathering site data should it gather subdomain specific data? Or domain specific data?

Looks nice and covers pretty much all you need.

Maybe you can add:
+ Future PageRank
+ DMOZ Link
+ Used Doctype
+ Link Value
+ Top 3 Used Keywords

hey what sup im new to this seo stuff and i like this blog, can you tell me what serps mean ? does that mean search engines?

#blazin : Search Engine Result Page, go look it up on Wikipedia

#Martin : sound too much for me. i don't want my personal searches to be cluttered with all those data.

and if you don't mind me asking. if this were an extension for SEO, why there's del.icio.us? didn't they use nofollow? so no use showing it either no? cmiiw...

Would the "Links" open a Yahoo Site Explorer page?

Maybe add a link to a Google site analysis page (keywords)

Cool idea Aaron.

Del.icio.us? Why not-- the links may be no follow but who cares if your point is to create traffic and not to simply create a higher PR. Isn't that the point of SEO/M anyways?

glad you had a kick ass time at the festival.
this tool looks awesome.

a few things i would like to see in this tool,

1: Y! linkdomain
2: # of outbound links on the page

cant wait till it comes out.

Aaron,

It'd be cool if you could incorporate the allin* rank there as well...
.edu link: 7 | allinanchor: 4 | allintext: 2 | etc

That would save a bit of time I think.

June 23, 2006 - 6:42pm

count of dir.yahoo.com links
count of dmoz links
count of .edu and .gov links

June 23, 2006 - 8:16pm

Looking good...just don't over do it!

PR: 5 | Age: 01-2006 | del.icio.us: 58 | Technorati: 7 | Links: 20 | edu. links: 5 | gov. links: 6 | Page Links: 489 | Alexa: 45,659 | Dmoz: 2 | Dir.yahoo: 15 | allinanchor: 2 | allintext: 2 | Outbound links: 56 | ebay: 14 | Digg: 485 | blazin: ? | SEOBOOK: 19 | AOL: -14 | Ect.....

I think you get the idea.

I really like the sounds of this plugin - it is a must do!

That being said, all the options should be configurable via the settings. That way each person can customize what they want displayed on their serps.

(To avoid clutter)

"What Marketing Data Would You Want in Google's SERPs?"

None!

Arron,

All those things you have planned look good. - I think they'd be useful yet it would not fundamentally change what I click on.

What I'd find more useful (just for me) is Microsoft's Commercial Detection and the strongest Demographics for each url based on a semantic analysis of the content (tall order right!).

The issue I have is all the information we pull, just as your pulling don't actually bring me closer to the truth of weather I should click on the url or not.

Perhaps what would be useful here would be to pull in TalkDigger's info on those whom might have commented on a url and let us use social media to find out if more about a the owner of a url . In other works - lets go past the obvious things that anyone can pull out (ie: Technorati Rank, Google Page Rank, number of links - as these have really become almost meaningless) and lets to for more psyhographic and social media commentry.

Hope this helps,
Marshall

would be nice if the user could configure the displayed infos by himself, so you can put all the infos in and everyone can choose the ones they want to see.

June 25, 2006 - 5:04pm

Well, could Google Trends be somehow shown for the searched keyword/phrase? An up or down arrow or something that doesn't eat up too much realestate.

June 25, 2006 - 11:23pm

I think since the question was about Marketing Data in regards to Google its simple: (as "Cygnus on" stated) what would really matter (for the marketer) is information like "allinanchor", "allintitle","allintext" and "allinurl" ... That information, plus ILQ is a must when using Google for research. This is a great idea Aaron and I see where you are going with this!

June 26, 2006 - 1:05am

yeah, "what would really matter" is the magic word. but as long as it can be configurable, i really don't care :D so choose the ones you think are useful Aaron!

but here's something to consider.
- links from some big press release sites
- check if included on google base

i don't know if those two are possible. but for the site i'm working on right now, infos on that can be helpful.

June 26, 2006 - 1:26am

ooooh, very nice. looking forward to it

How about including Y and MSN ranks too.
Another vote for...
"...info like "allinanchor", "allintitle", "allintext" and "allinurl"

The ability to turn stuff on and off would really be great also. Maybe some are not into Technorati on some days. Depends what angle yer working at the time. (IBL vs. PR...)

June 26, 2006 - 5:08pm

I'd like to see a lasted cached date.

I also agree with some sort of ability to turn on only the features I'm interested in... would this require some sort of control panel?

June 26, 2006 - 10:35pm

Page length and inbound links would be great.

I dream about a stat showing the historical ranking of the page for the given search term.

Sounds like you can rip the best features from seoelite and place them in this tool! I guess just the usual tick box menu from within the extension to turn the features on/off like the adsense notifier extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/500/)

How much will to pay to fund this dev - or is it inkind - a book? LOL!
